Registration Policies

• Laguna Woods Village Residents: All Laguna Woods Village residents are eligible to register for all classes. Village residents take priority on course space and waiting list over people outside the community regardless of dates of registration.

• Non Laguna Woods Village Residents: Non Laguna Woods Village residents may register for waitlist spots. Confirmation of registration will be emailed two days before course begins if space is available.

Fees and Charges for THE VILLAGE ACADEMY Courses

• Registration fee: A one-time $5.00 per calendar year regardless of the number of courses taken in the calendar year 

• Course fees: Determined by the number of class meetings and lab time

• There is a fee for each course (see individual course information page in the  Course Catalog)

• The fee per class meeting per person is $2.00

• For courses that include lab time there is an additional fee to the $2.00 per session class fee (see Course Catalog for total course fees)

• The total course fee is due regardless of how many class and/or lab meetings a student attends

How and When to Pay for Courses

• Course fees are collected on the first class meeting of each course

• Registration fee is collected at the first class meeting student attends

• Make checks payable to: THE VILLAGE ACADEMY

• Registration fee and one course fee may be combined on one check - THE VILLAGE ACADEMY does not accept single checks for combined fees of multiple courses

• THE VILLAGE ACADEMY accepts cash - please bring exact amount due

• THE VILLAGE ACADEMY does not accept credit cards at this time

Purposes of Fees and Charges

• THE VILLAGE ACADEMY provides supplies and materials for some courses

• THE VILLAGE ACADEMY's future plans include purchasing equipment to be able to teach film courses effectively and professionally

• Despite financial needs, THE VILLAGE ACADEMY's first priority is to make courses affordable for anyone who wishes to participate
